Hotel
Pershing Hall

Ultimate luxury: a blend of discretion and sophistication

The address is full of promise in itself: among the Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V. Right in the heart of the most prestigious area in Paris, among high-end boutiques and fashionable clubs, the Pershing Hall’s entrance, as elegant as it is discreet, opens up a unique world beyond your imagination.

In the heart of the Parisian “Golden Triangle”

History & modernity

A magnificent example of 18th century architecture, the Pershing Hall welcomes its guests into an exclusive ambiance where opposites blend together harmoniously and clearly: history with modernity, classicism with boldness and luxury with simplicity.

The building’s imposing Empire-style architecture with a grand staircase and majestic rooms from the past still remain and, of course, the name borrowed from General John Pershing, who made this his headquarters in 1917 when American troops were fighting alongside the French army.

Over the years and centuries, the building has been renovated and great care has been taken to preserve its historic soul, with alcoves of remembrance which serve as a nod from the present day to the heroes and the history of the past.

A refined and warm design

In 2001, the great designer and interior architect Andrée Putman put her mark on the place. Using simplicity and cleanliness, she reinvented the rooms and enhanced the spaces.

Concerned with the smallest details and the balance of form, she designed each piece of furniture, the rooms, the suites and the living areas to achieve an elegant yet moderate aesthetic, enhanced by masterful lighting. From 2012, Hervé Vermesh, architect and interior designer, took the reins. He notably created a skylight which illuminates the restaurant, like a well-lit echo of spaces which have open sky above. This sophisticated light rebounds off the mirrors and the crushed velvet walls in a shower of gold.

The exuberance of nature

Playing on the daring of her predecessors, Andrée Putman invited nature into the Pershing Hall, which was the first hotel to harbour an impressive vertical garden 30 metres high. This garden was created by Patrick Blanc, the renowned botanist and gardener: a creator of the impossible.

The living spaces centre around this garden alongside a patio which opens onto the sky. This wild yet continuously pampered garden includes more than 300 species of trees, shrubs and plants from the Philippines, the Himalayas and the Amazon. Creepers, ferns, giant leaves and an orchid as high as you can see above your head.
